The current refugee crisis can seem distant and overwhelming. As individuals, it can seem like there’s nothing we can do to help. There is.

We are a grassroots network of professionals and organizations working together to collaborate on a unified response to sponsoring refugees in the beautiful Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. As individuals who want to help, we come together to form a community to donate our time, skills, money, and energy to help in whatever ways we can.

Time-sensitive Call for Help

Urgent - Need for Housing

Required for September 1st (or October 1st), 3 or 4 bedroom home for $1500/month preferably including utilities and close to schools, in Kelowna, West Kelowna or Lake Country for Syrian refugee family. (See Blog for details.)

There are many different groups currently sponsoring Syrian families in the Okanagan. To be eligible to sponsor a family you must be designated a Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH). Gaining that designation is very difficult, so most groups go through an organization who is already connected to a SAH. In the Okanagan, churches typically fill this role. Below are the organizations actively involved in bringing families to Kelowna and their relationship to the 5 local SAHs. There are more in the process of applying. If you are interested in starting your own sponsorship group, please contact us for information.
